About Me

Let's go (partially) nude.

Didn't feel like painting my whole nail. So I sponged gold glitter at the tips.

Good ole cheap polish
from the Dollar Tree.

Then added some stickers I had.

Fairly simple mani, really. As a matter of fact. . .I think it's pretty dang close to this one that I did previously. Huh. How uncreative. Ah well.

Guest Nails: Jessica

This is a different Jessica from the snowflake mani. It was her birthday so I combined the marbling idea from Amanda's nails and the rhinestone idea from my new year mani. Her colors: pink, purple, and white. (The camera didn't capture the colors too well though; they are brighter in real life).

Look at that thumb and pinky!

Oh, and the ring finger,
of course.

Personally, I thought the mani turned out pretty well (and yes, I realize they look very similar in pattern to Amanda's nails, but hey, that's water marbling for you). Water marbling sure gets easier the more often I do it though. I really, really liked the rhinestones on her ring fingers. (I don't know if anyone can tell, but it's alternating pink and purple stones).

Happy belated birthday Jessica, and I hope you enjoyed your mani!

What a friend!

So my roommate let me use her Katy Perry shatter polish. Whoo! Thanks Amanda!

There's actually three layers of polish underneath the black: two of the bright blue and one glitter.

I have to admit, it was definitely fun wearing this polish. I really enjoyed the shatter effect.

Guess who got her hands on the Katy Perry shatter polish? My roommate. Damn her. She showed off her nails to me the other day, and boy am I jealous.

Her base color is Sally Hansen's Purple Diamond. I absolutely love this mani.

I didn't realize how freaking popular shatter/crackle polish is. The stuff's sold out everywhere. I'd like to own a bottle, but I'm not shelling out more than ten bucks (and even ten is pushing it) just to have it. This polish hobby of mine is getting too expensive.

Belated V-Day

Remember my Shamrock Party post? I re-used the flower stamp with pink and white as a background.

This mani was. . .cute (to put it into a word). I have a "meh" reaction to it. It's too pink for me. Too little-girl-pink. I didn't wear this for long; my whites have a tendency to chip quickly. I think it lasted three or four days.

Shamrock Party

Ok, maybe they aren't shamrocks. But it's pretty close. . .right? Very St. Patty.

I layered three colors: a gray/beige near the cuticles, light green and dark green. Then I stamped it with my bundle monster plate. I actually did this mani in a hurry, so it's not as neat as I want it to be. (Also, it took freaking forever to dry).

This wasn't the look I was originally going for, but it does look nice. Too bad it peeled after about two days. But that's alright- I got another idea for this particular stamp!

Rockstar? More like popstar!

Lame title, but cool mani!

These photos are without any top coat. (My nails all smeared a little after I applied it. It's probably time for a new bottle).

I'm not a pinks and reds person, but this is much better than that dead fish fiasco. And yes, I filed down my nails a little. I got tired of poking myself in the eye while putting on my contacts.

Guest Nails: Amanda

I did a V-Day water marbling mani for Amanda (and hot damn, I think this is the best marbling I've done yet)!

Middle finger is my fav.

I really, really like the pinky.

And the index finger too.
Thank god the swirls came out nicely this time! This mani is definitely a success.

Sea of dead fish.

Ever painted your nails, thought it wasn't enough, added more crap to them, and then wished you hadn't? Yeah. Should've stopped myself when I was ahead.

Used an Ulta blue polish to make some funky blocks on my nails and then stamped polka dots with the same polish.

This blue was very pretty. Very bright. In hindsight, I should've worn this mani as is. But no, I had to do something stupid like this-

Stamped ugly fish bones all over them. And then matted everything. Sea of dead fish.

Not only was this thing fugly, the matte coat caused the black fish to streak. Bleah. Let's not do this mani again. I admit it's funky. . .but not in the good way.
